Indiana Bridge, Inc is a nationally recognized structural steel fabricator located in Muncie, Indiana. Indiana Bridge, Inc was originally a premier provider of bridges, but has evolved into a supplier of high-quality steel fabrication and erection services for various customers. Our services include structural steel fabrication and steel erection for commercial properties, industrial projects, arenas, and airports across North America. Notable complete structures for customer such as Fastenal, Nestle, Coca-Cola, Ford, Ball State University, and Indiana State Fairgrounds.
SUMMARY:
Indiana Bridge, Inc is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team. The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and tracking of raw materials, steel components, and finished products throughout the shop floor and warehouse. This role plays a critical part in supporting fabrication operations by ensuring materials are delivered to the right place at the right time.
Job Description:
Load, unload, and transport steel materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment Organize and stage raw materials and fabricated parts according to job orders and production schedules Assist with receiving, inspecting, and inventorying incoming shipments Maintain accurate records of material movement and inventory levels Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a clean and organized work environment Work closely with production, shipping, and receiving teams to meet project deadlines Handler will wear a radio for communication with detail group leader.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a manufacturing or steel fabrication environment preferred Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes (certification is a plus) Basic understanding of material identification and steel types Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced setting Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs and work on feet for extended periods Be available to work all regular and overtime hours as required, including Saturdays. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and physical lift test. Must show up ready to work at 6 am on scheduled days. Must be able to work outside in different types of weather without issue. Be able to communicate with drivers and other employees within the shop without issue.
