Job Description
Job description: RTM is seeking a Yard Attendant, Equipment Operator & Detailer to become part of our team. This individual must have reliable transportation, be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions, and have the capability to operate a range of heavy equipment, including forklifts, tractors, boat hoists, and other boat yard machinery. The position requires availability from Monday through Friday, with rotating weekend shifts.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Yard Attendant is a key member of our team, responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the boat yard, assisting with the handling, preparation and transportation of boats, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. The Yard Attendant maintains a neat, clean and orderly yard / storage lot, as well as boat, trailer and motor storage to ensure timely retrieval of those products when needed; transport units as requested to designated locations within the department or dealership or stage unit for shipment to outlying location. This position also requires attention to detail when cleaning boats.ESSENTIONAL FUNCTIONS
Follows all safety precautions and procedures at all times Assists with the safe and efficient moving of boats in and on the dealership property, including hauling, launching and docking Help organize the display and arrangement of boats on the dealership premisesSpring Boat Prep:
cleaning, waxing, detailing and deliveringFall Boat Prep:
Picking up, cleaning, acid washing and power washing Offload and inspect new boats, trailers, and motors upon delivery Helps maintain the yard storage needs: stands, blocks, covers, etc. Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the yard area, shop and dealership Assist service techs when needed Assist in coordinating and scheduling maintenance on yard equipment, including trucks, trailers, tractors and forklifts Reports all damaged or malfunctioning equipment to department manager Performs other related duties as assigned Support a strong commitment to world class customer service and ensure a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers Operate a fork lift or tractor to unload all incoming boats, motors and trailers, then transport units to designated placement area within department or dealership, i.e., Storage Lot, outside display, Showroom Floor or customer delivery area Arrange for transport and staging of boats to service, rigging and detail by moving units from one location to another as necessary Load and stage for pick-up all outgoing units in designated areas of storage lot Assist in washing and vacuuming of all units as needed Assist with monthly and annual physical unit inventories Collaborate with the service foreman and other team members to meet project deadlines CDL or For Hire License preferred but not mandatory.EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Valid driver's license Strong work ethic Ability to handle physical workload Self-motivated Reliable TransportationKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY
Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner to our customers and other associates Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, co-workers and management Previous experience working in a boat yard or similar environment is preferred Knowledge of boat maintenance and equipment operation is a plus Ability to operate and maintain various yard equipment. Strong work ethic and a commitment to safety Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment Time management / punctualityPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to operate a Fork Lift Heavy lifting up to 50 pounds Ability to work outdoors in all kinds of weather The role may involve occasional heavy lifting and physical labor. Perform and assist with maintenance / janitorial projects around the facilities Communicate the need for maintenance or repair to facility properties and equipmentBenefits Included:
