Temp-to-Hire Position Overview:
We are seeking a dependable Material Handler for a wood and paper product distribution facility in Jeffersonville, IN. This role involves handling incoming and outgoing materials, operating a forklift, and supporting daily warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have previous forklift experience and the ability to grow into a role with greater responsibility, including assisting with team coordination on the warehouse floor.Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a forklift to move, stage, and organize materials
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently
- Receive and prepare shipments for distribution
- Maintain organized warehouse space and inventory accuracy
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory tracking
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures
- Support team operations and assist with workflow coordination as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous forklift experience required
- Warehouse or material handling experience preferred
- Leadership experience (Team Lead, Shift Lead, etc.) is a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Strong reliability, communication skills, and work ethic
