Materials Management Worker

Job Summary:

Performs functions to contribute to the success of purchasing, inventory, shipping and receiving services. Emphasis is on positive internal and external communication and cost-effective utilization of materials and supplies.

Essential Functions:

Assists in the procurement of supplies, equipment and services Maintains a good working relationship with vendors Upholds CBH policies, acts as an advisor/resource to all departments with regard to supply, equipment, and service needs, and keeps CBH informed of departmental policy changes and any deviation of routine activity Assists with physical inventory oversight Helps to maintain database of products in the materials management system Contributes to successful achievement of departmental goals and objectives Follows established standards of performance and productivity Maintains records and statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes Maintains effectiveness of interpersonal skills, cooperativeness, communication, and positive attitude with co-workers, patients, vendors, and physicians Performs other duties as directed Ability to follow written and oral instructions Excellent communication skills (oral and written) Ability to work well with others, self motivated Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations Ability to work with computer software such as Excel, Microsoft Word, etc Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent Requires a valid driver's license Experience working a materials management position in a hospital preferred
