12 Months Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Material Handler to support warehouse and manufacturing operations in Kansas City, Kansas. The Material Handler will be responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, picking, staging, and delivering materials to designated areas while maintaining accurate inventory records and following all safety and quality procedures. Key Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, parts, and supplies. Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and containers. Move materials safely throughout the warehouse and production areas. Pick, pack, stage, and deliver materials according to work orders and production schedules. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment. Properly label, identify, and store materials in designated locations. Maintain accurate inventory records and perform cycle counts as required. Use barcode scanners, inventory systems, and other warehouse technology. Prepare materials for shipment and ensure proper packaging and documentation. Supply production lines with required materials in a timely manner. Inspect materials for damage or discrepancies and report issues to supervisors. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and standard operating procedures. Assist with inventory reconciliation and investigate material discrepancies. Perform other warehouse and material-handling duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. 1+ year of experience in material handling, warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, or a related environment. Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials as required by the position. Experience operating forklifts or other material-handling equipment preferred. Basic computer skills and ability to use inventory/scanning systems. Ability to read and follow work instructions, shipping documents, and safety procedures. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment. Current forklift certification. Experience with SAP, Oracle, WMS, or other inventory management systems . Experience with RF scanners and barcode systems. Knowledge of lean manufacturing or 5S principles. Previous experience handling raw materials, components, finished goods, or industrial equipment.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
