Job Description
Company DescriptionIngram Marine Group is searching for our next Warehouse Specialist in Paducah, KY. This person will responsible for performing routine warehouse related duties and special assignments under the direct supervision of the Warehouse Manager or his designee. The Warehouse Specialist is also responsible for assisting the Warehouse Manager in the overall safe and efficient operation of the warehouse.
Job DescriptionWhat you will be doing:
Adheres to all Ingram and other regulatory policies.
Actively participating in pre-shift meetings and safety huddles.
Properly completing all equipment inspection checklist(s) and presents to Warehouse Manager or his designee for review.
Implementing Lean and Sigma Six principles as assignedKeeping work area(s) safe, clean and orderly.
Reviewing vessel traffic reports dailyReviewing and analyzing vessel orders, travel speed, navigation disruptions and determine impact on distributionAnalyzing shipping volumes to each location each day and determine most efficient and cost-effective means of shipping and best suited carrierWorking with vessels to determine most effective shipping locations and timings based on material to ship, locations, and various other factors, design a daily shipping strategyEnsuring that all items are received into the warehouse from delivery vehicles and other conveyances in a safe manner.
Reviewing all received shipments for accuracyIdentifying discrepancies to quantities and any damage to received items and conspicuously note on delivery paperwork prior to signing and reported to direct Manager.
Putting away received items into designated areas.
Consolidating items into the best configuration for shipment.
Ensuring that all labels, placards, and shipping papers are properly prepared and attached to shipments or conveyed to shipperPreparing items for shipping by packing securely, stretch wrapping, banding, etc.
Loading shipments with forklift or by hand as appropriate.
Reviewing returns by separating junk from items that may be returned for vendor creditPreparing items to be returned for credit for pickup by vendor.
Properly disposes of non-returnable items in accordance with Ingram and governmental regulationsReporting any unsafe condition or activity to management.
Supporting department activities with regular and prompt attendanceFulfilling warehouse Pos and Inventory pick requestsConducting inventory cycle counts and reportingOrganizing materials and supplies in logical and efficient staging areasManaging special distribution needs as requiredMaintaining a working knowledge of stocked products, active vessels, locations and vendorsWorking with Engineering to coordinate shipyard vessel supply needsCleaning and maintain warehouseWorking over-time, call out as needed after hours and weekends
Must be able to work in extreme weather conditionsSome travel requiredWeekend work and overtime are required as neededWorking and standing on concrete surfaces for extended periods requiredMust be able to obtain a TWIC cardAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.

QualificationsKnowledge and Skills:
Understands and abides by all applicable Ingram and governmental regulations pertaining to associate safety and warehouse operationMust be trained in safe forklift operationUnderstand river traffic patterns nad location pointsAbility to effectively communicate with vendors and Internal CustomersAdditional InformationMust be able to walk up and down steep gradesMust be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.Must be able to work in extreme weather conditionsSome travel requiredWeekend work and overtime are required as neededWorking and standing on concrete surfaces for extended periods requiredMust be able to obtain a TWIC cardAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
