Shipping and Receiving Specialist Job Description This role involves working in either the shipping or receiving areas, handling electrical supplies. Tasks include packaging, shipping, and processing inventory of various sizes, from small labeled boxes to large electrical spools. Responsibilities also include unloading trucks and entering products into the computer system. Coordination with vendors, setting up shipments, and tracking inventory are essential tasks. Responsibilities Package and ship electrical supplies ranging from small boxes to large spools. Unpack and verify all orders to ensure accuracy. Load and unload trucks or flatbeds. Input products into the computer system using scanners and basic computer skills. Coordinate shipments with vendors and track inventory. Work on the loading or receiving dock as assigned. Essential Skills At least 3 years of experience in shipping/receiving. Basic computer skills and familiarity with scanners. Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack. Experience with data entry, SAP, and inventory control. Ability to perform cycle counts and handle material. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Strong communication skills. Attention to detail and ability to perform simple math. Capability to handle heavy lifting. Why Work Here? Work Environment The position is based in a dry warehouse with fans, providing insulation for a comfortable working environment, although it is not air-conditioned. Standard attire includes work pants, steel-toe shoes, and basic shirts. The job site is located in Rayville, LA, and requires flexibility in working hours, including potential weekend shifts. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rayville, LA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
