Job Title:
Warehouse Worker Job Description The Warehouse Worker plays a critical role in supporting public transit operations by receiving, organizing, and distributing mechanical parts and supplies for maintenance teams. This position ensures that mechanics receive the correct parts on time so transit vehicles operate safely and efficiently.
Pay:
$20/hr
Shift:
First (1st) shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm, Monday - Friday Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments of mechanical and transit-related parts for accuracy and quality. Accurately pick, pack, and stage parts for delivery to maintenance facilities and job sites. Maintain an organized inventory within the warehouse, including clear labeling and proper storage of parts. Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts, if certified, to move and handle materials safely. Prepare delivery manifests and documentation to support timely dispatch of orders to mechanics and field locations. Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with inventory audits to maintain accurate stock records. Coordinate with drivers and logistics staff to plan and support efficient delivery routes. Use RF scanners or similar devices to track inventory movements and update warehouse records. Load and unload trucks and other vehicles, ensuring materials are handled carefully and stored correctly. Report discrepancies, damaged goods, or inventory shortages to supervisors promptly and follow up on resolutions. Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant warehouse environment in line with OSHA guidelines and internal safety procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in a warehouse environment supporting maintenance or mechanical operations. Familiarity with warehouse inventory systems and basic data entry. Comfort working with mechanical and transit-related parts and components. Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with drivers, logistics staff, and supervisors. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Why Work Here? The warehouse follows OSHA guidelines and emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and compliance. Work hours typically follow standard warehouse shifts, and you can expect a hands-on, fast-paced setting where organization and attention to detail are essential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Bridgewater, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
