Job Description
Job Title:
Material Handler Job Description The position requires prior experience as a material handler/packer/processing orders and using basic computer functions to track inventory. Responsibilities Perform shipping and receiving tasks directly when needed, including preparing packages, labeling, and verifying shipment details. Use FedEx and UPS software to process orders Operate sit-down forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, load, and unload materials safely occassionally. Palletize materials and organize inventory in designated storage areas to maintain an orderly warehouse environment. Perform data entry related to purchase orders, shipping, and receiving activities using computer systems and SAP. Verify incoming and outgoing materials against purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy. Follow established safety procedures and guidelines while operating equipment and performing all material handling tasks. Essential Skills At least 1 years of experience working with FedEx shipping systems (Recommended but not needed). At least 1 years of experience working with UPS shipping systems (Recommended but not needed). Proficiency using a computer for data entry and documentation. Ability to use FedEx and UPS software for processing shipments. Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including handling purchase orders. Ability to operate a sit-down forklift safely and effectively. Experience with palletizing materials and organizing inventory. Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise systems for tracking materials and transactions. Additional Skills & Qualifications Strong attention to detail in verifying shipment information and documentation. Comfort working with data entry tasks related to purchase orders, shipping, and receiving. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple shipments and tasks simultaneously. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based within a large industrial facility and operates on a second shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. You will work in a warehouse and production support environment that involves use of sit-down forklifts, palletizing materials, and handling shipments. The setting emphasizes safety, adherence to procedures, and efficient material flow throughout the facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of East Hartford, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.66 - $22.66/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
