Job Description

Job description S.H. Bell Company operates warehousing facilities capable of processing, crushing, screening, and packaging of materials. The Company ships and receives material via river barge, truck and rail. We are currently seeking Warehouse Associates to work at our TPA terminal. An ideal candidate would be available to work 1st or 2nd shift, and willing to temporarily work at our Biddle Street location, during our consolidation process, when needed. Warehouse Associates perform tasks involving physical labor and operation of various hand and power tools such as air hammers, mechanical hoists, measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. Warehouse Associates load/unload trucks and railcars using tow motors and front-end loaders, some manual labor is involved. They are responsible for cleaning, maintaining and preparing the site for receipt of materials and products and the repackaging of such materials and products for delivery to the Company's clients, including the cleanup of debris and other materials. Warehouse Associates must be able to meet the requirements of the position including, but not limited to: Active, physical work involving periodic heavy lifting (55+ pounds) unassisted on a repetitive basis, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching, walking, standing, reaching over head, working in confined spaces, climbing stairs (including narrow stairs and ladders on a repetitive basis. Driving and operating mobile industrial equipment for extended periods of time (including, but not limited to, forklifts, skid steers and front-end loaders) Exposure to variable and adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc. Requires focus adjustment, depth perception, clear close and distant vision Requires periodic use of dust masks, ear protection, eye protection and other safety equipment.
