️ Redefining ︎ mobility since 1987 Leading manufacturer and retailer of wheelchair-accessible vehicles Nationwide, family-owned & operated, headquartered in Battle Creek, MI Job Summary Freedom Motors USA is seeking a dependable and hardworking General Labor / Ramp Building team member to join our production team in Battle Creek, MI. This position will primarily focus on the assembly, installation, and finishing of wheelchair-accessible vehicle ramps. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, enjoys hands-on work, is comfortable using hand and power tools, and takes pride in producing safe, high-quality work. Key Responsibilities Build, assemble, and install wheelchair-accessible vehicle ramps according to specifications and work instructions. Measure, cut, drill, fasten, and assemble ramp components as required. Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively. Install and adjust ramp components to ensure proper fit, function, and alignment. Inspect completed ramps for quality, functionality, and proper installation. Identify and correct assembly or installation issues. Follow established production procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Move materials, parts, and equipment throughout the production area as needed. Assist with other vehicle assembly, production, and general labor duties as assigned. Work as part of a team to meet production schedules and quality expectations. Qualifications Previous experience in construction, manufacturing, automotive, assembly, carpentry, or general labor is preferred. Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn. Comfortable working with hand and power tools. Ability to read and follow measurements, instructions, and basic diagrams. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Previous ramp-building, fabrication, or automotive experience is a plus but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to frequently bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, and lift. Ability to safely lift and move materials, tools, and ramp components. Ability to work in a manufacturing and production environment. Ability to perform repetitive hands-on tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
