General Laborer

Overview Barnes Hide and Fur is looking for a dedicated and hardworking laborer to join our team. We are a family owned fur processing facility. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various production processes, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. From approximately Oct to Jan, we process deer hides. We travel to various deer processors to pick up hides. They must be loaded and unloaded on a trailer, salted and counted. During the months of Oct

• May, we process various types of fur bearing animals, fox, coyote, muskrat, beaver, etc.

Animals must be skinned, scraped, stretched and allowed to dry. We attend seasonal shows throughout the summer, which requires some travel, loading, unloading, setting up and sales. Must have a valid drivers license. Equal opportunity employer, All persons welcome to apply. Duties. Operate and maintain various tools safely and effectively. Assist in the processes of harvesting fur from various animals as per specifications. Support the movement of product wherever needed to ensure a timely and safe delivery. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment to promote workplace safety. Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines. Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report any mechanical issues or malfunctions. Utilize forklift when necessary to transport materials as needed. Ability to handle raw fur and animals, including learning to process the hides. Ability to lift 50+ lbs Experience Previous experience in fur harvesting, or a similar environment is preferred, but not required Familiarity with operating forklift and other machinery is advantageous. Ability to demonstrate efficiency and attention to detail. Willingness to learn new skills related to fur harvesting processes. Experience in towing trailers is a plus. Hours will vary depending on season 8:00 am
