Materials Support Assistant

Description Summary:

Provides hands-on support for daily Materials Management operations by managing the movement, organization, and staging of materials and supplies. This role enables trained staff to focus on higher-level work by handling routine logistics and support tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Receive, sort, and distribute incoming packages, supplies, and materials
• Prepare items for internal delivery or outbound shipment (basic packaging, labeling, staging)
• Perform routine pickup and delivery of materials (mail, lab supplies, equipment) between locations
• Stock supplies and restock common-use items in designated areas
• Assist with basic inventory counts and organization of supply areas
• Maintain clean, organized storage rooms, supply areas, and loading dock spaces
• Pull, stage, and deliver requested items to staff
• Transport materials, equipment, and supplies safely throughout the facility (lifting/carrying required)
• Perform routine cleaning, handling, and movement of reusable materials following established procedures
• Support lab waste handling and disposal processes under supervision
• Follow standard operating procedures and safety requirements (including PPE use where applicable)
• Respond to ad hoc requests to move materials or support daily operations

Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Grand Rapids, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $18.00/hr.
