Non CDL Driver/General Labor UFP Industries, Inc United States, Michigan, Howell 2124 Grand Commerce Drive (Show on map) Jun 18, 2026 Job Summary - Casual Driver (Non-CDL) & General Labor Truck Driver is responsible for the operation of vehicles less than 26,001 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight, to deliver goods to customers and operations, and to pick up material from vendors and other operations. General labor is responsible for safely handling all products. Verifies material and finished product meets customer requirements and company expectations. Principal Duties and Responsibilities as a Casual Driver (Non-CDL) & General Labor Safely drives on the road delivering products in various weather conditions
Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspection sheets
Inspects equipment to ensure safe operating conditions - checks oil and fuel prior to leaving the yard
Secures load and/or inspects load to ensure has been properly secured
Perform duties consistent with all applicable safety, DOT and Company rules
Conducts preventive maintenance to truck and ensures truck is clean
Maintains appropriate driving records, logs, and shipping documents as required
Maintains radio/telephone and EOB Electronic On-Board System contact with base or supervisor to receive instructions or to be dispatched to new locations
Verifies shipping documents for accuracy, and obtains customer's signature on paperwork upon delivery
Completes paperwork as required
Operate a forklift to load/unload trailers as required and follows forklift rules and policies as described by Company policy
Completes training as required by management
Moves and secures products and other materials according to instructions
Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
Labels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and count
Uses a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment
Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area
Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
Records production on production sheets
Maintains a clean and organized work area
Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
Performs other duties as required Qualifications Must be 21 years of age
Minimum 12th grade basic education completed
Minimum 1 year of experience driving a vehicle of less than 26,001 lbs. Preferable 3 to 5 years of experience driving a commercial vehicle
Working knowledge of vehicle parts, and how to handle minor repairs to ensure equipment is in proper operating condition
Required to have a valid Class D Driver's License and DOT Medical Card
Working knowledge of basic math preferred Successful completion of forklift driver licensing process The Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
