Job Description

Job Purpose:
Monitor daily schedule and provide material handling in support of production operations
Qualifications:
Education and Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent education & experience
Knowledge :
Knowledge of practices and procedures in a manufacturing environment related to the handling of material for production support and receiving of materials.
Skills & Abilities :
Ability to operate a forklift. Good verbal communication and basic math skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the
Job:
Monitor the daily schedule and provide material handling support to extrusion area. Unload and store aluminum logs / receive material and support moving logs to the log oven. Loads and unloads heat age ovens, records heat age data, tickets loads and moves to stores. Oversee level of scrap in scrap trailers, dump scrap into trailers, record scrap pounds, coordinate the pick-up of scrap trailers. Confirm all materials and buy-outs are on hand or will be available prior to the scheduled set-up/production. Inform the Production Control Department when materials and schedules don't agree. Assist in organizing/improving the identification and flow of materials with inventory levels that appear too high or too low. Inform Purchasing when materials or inventory levels appear too high or low. Communicate with other material handlers and supervisors to successfully sustain operations from shift to shift. Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Training Requirements:
New Hire Orientation, Hi-Lo Operator Licensing, PPE Level of Authority:
None Physical Demands:
Requires standing, walking for long periods of time, lifting up to 50 lbs, frequent bending and twisting, loading and unloading of heat age ovens, unloading log trucks outside in weather
