THE ROLE
We are seeking Material Handlers to join our team and help drive our continued success. This role plays an important part in supporting our customers, strengthening our business, and contributing to the long-term growth of Douglas Dynamics.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
Performs a variety of duties in support of the company's fabrication, welding, and assembly cells. Duties include but not limited to stocking FIFO and kitted carts with parts in required quantities based on level loaded production schedule, restock fabricated and purchased parts in finished part supermarket, maintain finished part supermarkets, coordinate replenishment, and communicate potential shortages with Buyer/Planner, perform daily 5S maintenance, other duties as assigned. In this role, you will leverage your skills, experience, and perspective to make a meaningful impact. You'll collaborate with teammates across the organization, contribute ideas, and help deliver results that matter for our customers and our business.
HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Ensuring parts and materials are available to support fabrication, welding, and assembly cells. Stock FIFO and kitted carts with required parts and quantities based on the production schedule. Restock fabricated and purchased parts in the finished parts supermarket. Maintain organization and accuracy of finished parts supermarkets. Coordinate replenishment activities to support production needs. Operate a hi-lo (forklift) as needed to move, stock, or replenish materials. Performs tasks to JIs as trained. Maintains safe working conditions and 5S. Compliance with regulations, procedures, and policies Ability to communicate effectively. Participate in company training programs. Works effectively in a team environment Reports packaging problems, piece part abnormalities/nonconformance, and unusual workplace events to BU lead person or supervisor Uses a variety of unpowered and powered material handling equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.
WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks with little supervision Ability to obtain and maintain a current Forklift and Arial lift platform license. Basic computer skills required. Ability to stand, walk, reach above shoulders and outward. Ability to bend, squat and crawl. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
