2nd shift Material Handler

Job Summary Deliver material to Production and Assembly department on all shifts. Complete requested material requisition forms and timely delivery of goods to internal customers. Responsibilities Inspect hi-lo daily and complete inspection checklist. Follow all safety policies and procedures. Empty chip hoppers as needed and clean any leftover debris. Break down boxes and remove from pallets. Remove old labels from empty dunnage before returning dunnage to the production line. Store material correctly and efficiently when received from supplier. Follow FIFO procedures. Assist in daily maintenance of all material storage areas. Assist in monthly inventory process. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of material handling process. Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Complete special assignments as requested. Other duties as assigned Academic Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Ability to drive or be licensed to drive a fork truck. Will train on the job Required Skills & Experience Basic computer literacy Basic math and business writing skills Ability to learn new programs, activities and tasks Good oral/written communications and interpersonal skills Production/manufacturing experience preferred Strong organizational, planning and documentation skills Works under general supervision. Employee acts independently to handle standard problems but usually reports such problems. More unusual problems are referred to a supervisor/manager. Major responsibilities do not typically require exercising independent judgement. Detailed instructions or established procedures are usually available as guidelines for most aspects of the job. Ability to lift 50 pounds Outdoor and extreme weather conditions Exposure to vibration 70% of the time Distance vision required to drive fork truck Moderate exposure to noise Health, Safety and Environmental Follow the Health, Safety and Environmental Program as reflected in the Health and Safety Policy Statement as well as the Environmental Management System (EMS).
