Prototype Analyst Material Handler#26-00956 Novi, MI Onsite Job Description
General Summary:
To maintain and organize prototype inventory for all commodities that pass through the prototype department. Complete daily picks for prototype builds via the pick sheets and provide pick bins to manufacturing locations within prototype. Pull all pass through parts for outgoing shipping for all customer orders. Maintain inventory to latest Engineering Change Instructions (ECI) changes and purge inventory as needed based on revision levels. II.
Essential Job Functions:
Collect and delegate parts for customer orders. Process incoming inventory parts: confirm part #, color, revision level, and count. Perform 1st and 2nd picks for all Prototype Manufacturing's finished goods. Collect and delegate all materials for outside process venders. Coordinate inventory levels and packaging supplies. Organize inventory based on projects and milestones. Complete inventory counts on scheduled inventory days. Purge inventory based on ECI Changes and "Not Used" parts. Empty Bailer and recycle all packaging received from suppliers. Analyze daily production schedule including initiating and completing all necessary kanban tags. Collect and deliver all Necessary materials and components for Trim/Sew Department. Follow safety, quality, confidentiality, and information security policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements :
Education:
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent. Some college or technical school training/coursework is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in automotive material handling and/or inventory control. Forklift license, training, and/or experience is a plus.
Personal/Technical Skills:
Basic Understanding of the manufacturing processes relating to plastics, metals, foam, and textiles. Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., HiLo, Forklift, etc.). Basic math and analytical skills. Able to work in a fast paced, multicultural work environment. Ability to function both independently and in a team environment. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work effectively within time constraints and deadlines, and handle stressful situations. Analytical skills, problem solving skills, and good judgment. Ability to work more than eight hours a day or to work a holiday or weekend if needed. Ability to communicate and work well with all levels of the organization. Must demonstrate commitment, entrepreneurship, innovation, perseverance, professionalism, self-discipline, and teamwork skills. Must be self-motivated, goal oriented, quality-driven, and capable of working with minimum supervision.
Language Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Japanese and/or Spanish is a plus.
Computer/Software:
Solid working knowledge and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Lotus Notes/Outlook, Internet, etc.).
Work Environment/Conditions :
N/A Standard automotive plant/warehouse environment with moderate noise level. PPE ( Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, Kevlar sleeves, hearing protection, etc. may be required in designated engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas. Personal attire standards may apply. Must be willing to travel up to 5% of the time.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, see, and hear.

The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, standing, and climbing or bending on, under, or near tooling and equipment for extended periods of time.

Frequently required to reach, grasp, and manipulate parts, materials, or equipment. May be occasionally required to lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds.
