Warehouse Associate - 2nd Shift or 3rd Shift Job Description This role supports a busy distribution operation by accurately picking, packing, and shipping parts while maintaining precise inventory records. You will work as part of a collaborative team to process orders, ensure products are correctly packaged and labeled, and keep the warehouse organized and efficient. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, reliable attendance, and a willingness to learn the full range of products, tools, and items stored on site. Responsibilities Receive, review, and prioritize incoming orders to ensure they are processed and shipped on time. Work closely with team members to pick parts from the warehouse and place them on the correct shelves or staging areas. Learn and identify each product, tool, and item on the shelves to ensure accurate picking and stocking. Use an RF scanner daily to scan parts in and out, update inventory records, and track product movement. Count inventory regularly and perform cycle counts to physically verify that all parts are accounted for. Audit inventory and shipments to confirm quantities, part numbers, and destinations are correct. Inspect parts for damage, rust, or defects and report or remove nonconforming items as needed. Package parts according to established packaging standards to protect items during transit. Prepare outbound shipments by physically verifying all units are accounted for and staged on the dock. Unbag, unband, and inspect outbound units for damage prior to shipment. Take clear photos of outbound shipments and upload them to the digital Outbound Quality Inspection form. Request any units not yet staged on the dock to be pulled and staged for inspection and shipment. Consolidate parts stored in multiple locations to maintain an organized and efficient warehouse layout. Ship parts to the correct locations, ensuring each package is labeled accurately and sent to the right address. Handle small parcel distribution activities, including labeling, documentation, and handoff to carriers. Operate within an ERP system to support inventory control, order processing, and shipment tracking. Lift and move boxes, parts, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily warehouse tasks. Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety procedures and warehouse processes. Work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining high accuracy. Demonstrate dependable attendance and punctuality, consistently arriving on time and ready to work. Show a positive, team-oriented attitude and a willingness to do whatever it takes to support the operation. Essential Skills Previous warehouse and inventory control experience. Ability to use an RF scanner on a daily basis for inventory and order processing. Familiarity with ERP systems for managing inventory and shipments. Experience with picking, packing, and shipping in a distribution environment. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly. Basic warehouse math skills for counting, verifying, and reconciling inventory. Strong attention to detail when scanning, counting, packaging, and auditing parts. Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting. Willingness to learn and remember a wide range of products, tools, and parts. Dependable attendance and punctuality, with a strong sense of responsibility. Positive, "do whatever it takes" attitude and strong team orientation. Comfort working most Saturdays and some Sundays on a consistent basis. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with small parcel distribution and outbound shipment preparation. Experience in picking, packing, and material handling in a warehouse setting. Experience operating warehouse equipment such as reach trucks or forklifts (if certified and required by site policies). Ability to perform cycle counts and inventory audits with high accuracy. Comfort using digital tools and forms, including uploading photos for quality inspection. Strong organizational skills to help maintain a clean and orderly warehouse. Stable job history and clear, professional reasons for transitions between roles. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester Hills, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
