Job Title:
Warehouse Associate Job Description This role is responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, and distributing materials and products within a busy warehouse distribution center. You help control the flow of shipping and receiving activities, ensure orders are accurately filled and prepared for shipment, and maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment while working a steady Monday through Friday day shift. Responsibilities Control the flow of shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, and matching purchase orders to sales orders for processing. Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed, or shipped. Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or other designated locations within the warehouse. Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to size, type, style, color, rack location, or product code. Fill requisitions, work orders, and requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or designated route driver storage areas. Ensure the warehouse remains accessible and safe for both sales personnel and customer traffic. Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department. Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods to ensure accurate tracking and inventory control. Open bales, crates, and other containers safely and efficiently. Weigh and count items for distribution within the facility to ensure conformance to company standards. Perform facilities maintenance duties as assigned to support overall warehouse operations. Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other departments when needed. Prepare parcels and shipments, ensuring they are properly packaged and labeled. Organize the warehouse and work areas to maintain orderliness and efficient workflow at all times. Wear proper safety equipment and follow safety procedures consistently throughout all tasks. Essential Skills At least 1 year of relevant experience working in a warehouse environment. Consistent work history with a minimum of approximately 6 months tenure at each previous place of employment. Ability to lift bins and materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to accurately count parts and items to maintain inventory accuracy. Experience using a handheld scanner for tracking and processing inventory and orders. Basic warehouse packing skills, including organizing and securing items for shipment. Attention to detail and ability to follow written orders and instructions accurately. Commitment to wearing proper safety equipment and following safety guidelines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Forklift experience is preferred and considered a plus. Comfort working in a fast-paced warehouse distribution environment. Strong organizational skills to maintain an orderly warehouse and work area. Reliability and punctuality for a consistent Monday through Friday schedule. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a collaborative environment. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a warehouse distribution center that operates in a clean, organized, and team-oriented environment. You work on-site in a collaborative setting where colleagues support one another to meet shipping and receiving goals. The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule, typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., providing regular daytime hours. The facility emphasizes safety, requiring the use of proper safety equipment while performing tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, operating material-handling tools, and moving inventory. The workspace is designed to be accessible and safe for both employees and customer traffic, with an emphasis on maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse at all times. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roseville, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
