POSITION
The Material handler position is responsible for organizing & staging material, filling hoppers at plastic injection presses, and clearing necessary material to maintain and ensure smooth production of plastic parts.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Prepare resins, packaging materials, and other ancillary equipment for use in molding operations for job set up Verify proper material drying conditions, dryer size, temperature and time required Provide an adequate supply of materials and monitors material use during operations to ensure uninterrupted supply Mix materials and concentrates per work order specifications Ensure proper blending of raw materials, regrind, additives and color at machines to meet quality criteria Clean of all material spills on floors and on presses Remove finished goods from press area to warehouse, completing necessary documentation Ensure finished goods are properly palletized and labeled prior to removing from production floor After job is complete, shut off dryers, remove and clean up materials, equipment, etc. (line clearance process) Set up and properly label gaylords for proper disposal of runners/bad parts Record and return all unused materials Grind and otherwise properly dispose of excess materials daily Clean and maintain dryers, filters, hoppers, loaders, grinders, maguires, motans, etc. Keeps work area clean as well as aisles free of material handling equipment Pull moisture check Material for QA when needed May assist in mold set up or transporting molds to tool room when necessary Provide backup for Shipping and Receiving Department when requested (cross training is required) Operate molding automatic molding machines and other machines when necessary Sort and move pallets to pallet area Provide physical counts on materials as necessary Verify accuracy on all work order BOMs Monitors machines and equipment and reports any malfunctions Complete necessary documentation on a daily basis Performs a daily end of shift cleanup and creates detailed shift notes Provide backup for employee breaks as needed Perform other duties as assigned.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
•EDUCATION LEVEL
High school or GED. Past experience in plastic injection molding or related manufacturing industry experience •JOB TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
Minimum of twelve months injection molding experience or related manufacturing industry experience. Familiarity with pallet jack, forklift, or other industrial vehicles (forklift certification required and may be obtained on the job). •MENTAL & VISUAL EFFORT
Requires the ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English. Basic math skills. Suitable written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills to interact within all levels of the organization. Use of a variety of machines and equipment requiring some trade machine and peripheral equipment. Requires the ability to perform equipment cleaning related to material handling as well as the ability to work with material handling equipment. Considerable degree and mental and/or visual attention required.RESPONSIBILITY

Moderate damage or loss is possible but exercise of ordinary care and attention will prevent loss. Proper storage and documentation must be maintained at all times. •TOOLS & EQUIPMENT
Follow standard procedures to achieve uniform results. Constant care and attention is required to prevent damage to molds, machines, gauges and secondary equipment and plastic parts. Maintain all company provided tools and tool boxes. •SAFETY OF OTHERS
Ordinary care required; follow established safety guidelines and practices to ensure self and safety of others are not jeopardized through good housekeeping activities.WORKING ENVIRONMENT PHYSICAL EFFORT
Physical exertion will be required to be able to lift at least 50lbs; HAZARDS Accident hazards moderate. Injuries normally consist of cuts and burns.WORKING CONDITIONS
Work inside factory building exposed to noise, smoke, plastic fumes, dirt and oil.Job Type:
