With recognized brands like Gilmour, Nelson and Weed Block, the company is fast-growing in the space, selling to "big box" and regional garden and hardware stores across North America. Domestic manufacturing operations are located in Waco Texas and Sparks Nevada. Lawn & Garden in St Peters, Missouri is growing and we are adding to our warehouse team. Come join the team in the position of Warehouse Associate/Reach Truck Operator. A Reach Truck Operator safely operates specialized, high-lift stand-up forklifts to pull product from the racks for shipping to customers as well as putting product away that has been received at the DC. Reach truck operators support DC order selectors by replenishing pick locations throughout the warehouse. All of these responsibilities are accomplished using RF Scanners to communicate with the Warehouse Management System, JDE, through scanning software called RfGen.

Key Responsibilities Safe Operation:

Maneuver reach trucks in aisles frequently occupied by order selectors to put away and retrieve pallets from rack locations.

Inventory Accuracy:

Utilize RF scanners to scan products for order fulfillment

Equipment Maintenance:

Perform daily, pre-shift inspections on the reach truck and report malfunctions.

Warehouse Maintenance:

Maintain a clean and organized work area (e.g., removing wood/plastic scraps). Key Qualifications Experience Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated stand-up reach truck experience. Training may be available for other candidates.

Physical Stamina:

Ability to stand for long periods, work in, and handle ambient warehouse temperatures in all weather conditions.

Skills:

Strong attention to detail, basic math skills, and proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is: Regularly required to talk or hear; walk; and move from place to place in an environment where temperatures range from 50 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Frequently required to stand and use hands and fingers to handle, or touch. Frequently required to lift cases or boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. Frequently required to operate material handling equipment; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; or reach above shoulders. Typical Requirements High school diploma or GED. Must be at least 18 years old. Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and overtime as needed.
