General Labor Job Description This role supports production operations by mixing and sorting soil, moving materials throughout the facility, and assisting with various tasks across multiple roles as needed. The position suits individuals with hands-on experience in construction, landscaping, oil changes, or other outdoor work who enjoy physical, fast-paced environments. Responsibilities Mix and sort soil according to established procedures and quality standards. Gather, stage, and organize materials required for soil mixing and production activities. Assist with changing over materials between production runs, including cleaning and preparing equipment and work areas. Move materials around the facility safely using appropriate tools or equipment. Support production operations by performing general labor tasks as directed by supervisors. Follow all safety procedures and use provided personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly at all times. Maintain a clean and orderly work area despite working in a dusty environment. Adapt to being placed in different general labor roles within the facility based on operational needs. Work effectively in outdoor and non-climate-controlled conditions, including hot and cold temperatures. Communicate clearly with team members to ensure smooth workflow and safe material handling. Essential Skills Experience performing general labor in physically demanding roles such as construction, landscaping, or similar outdoor work. Ability to work in an open bay, non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with dust and varying temperatures. Comfort performing repetitive tasks such as mixing and sorting soil and moving materials throughout a shift. Capability to handle materials safely and follow written and verbal instructions in a production setting. Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts (7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. or 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.) on a weekly schedule of Wednesday-Saturday one week and Thursday-Saturday the next. Reliability and strong work ethic to support continuous production operations. Commitment to following safety protocols and consistently using PPE. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with chemical processes or working around industrial materials. Familiarity with outdoor work and comfort working in dusty, dirty environments. Ability to source or manage basic materials used for mixing, when required. Flexibility to learn and perform multiple roles within a production facility. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position operates in a non-climate-controlled, open bay manufacturing facility with a dusty and dirty environment due to the nature of the products and soil mixing processes. Temperatures can be very hot during the summer and cold during the winter, and employees should be comfortable working in these conditions. The role follows a rotating 12-hour shift schedule of 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with workdays typically Wednesday through Saturday one week and Thursday through Saturday the next. All personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided, and employees are expected to wear it consistently to maintain safety. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sardis, MS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
