The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, storage, and distribution of materials within the warehouse environment. This role is vital to maintaining smooth supply chain operations, ensuring timely order fulfillment, and supporting overall warehouse productivity. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical skills, experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts and cranes, and a thorough understanding of warehouse safety standards. Duties Safely load and unload materials using equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and cranes while adhering to OSHA safety regulations. Perform order picking using RF scanners and other warehouse management systems to ensure accurate inventory processing. Load and unload shipments efficiently, verifying quantities against shipping documents and updating inventory records. Organize materials within the warehouse for optimal space utilization and easy access for order picking. Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including preparing items for dispatch and inspecting incoming goods for quality and accuracy. Operate heavy equipment responsibly during materials handling tasks, including mechanical knowledge of machinery maintenance when necessary. Support warehouse management by maintaining accurate records of inventory movements and participating in cycle counts. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate daily operations, prioritize tasks, and ensure safety compliance. Handle heavy lifting requirements safely, utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment to prevent injuries. Contribute to continuous process improvements related to materials handling, storage solutions, and safety protocols. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse distribution, materials handling, or related roles with a strong understanding of warehouse operations. Prior experience operating forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment in a warehouse setting. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and order picker technology. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards applicable to warehousing and construction environments. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management and order accuracy. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods. Previous experience in shipping & receiving processes is highly desirable. Warehouse supervisor experience or leadership roles are a plus but not required.
