Job Description

This position will be based out of the High Country Furniture and Design location at 3232 Dellwood rd. Waynesville . We are seeking a detail-oriented and physically active Warehouse Associate to join our Inbound Logistics team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for all incoming furniture inventory. You will manage the full "Dock-to-Stock" process—ensuring that every piece of furniture arriving at our facility is safely unloaded, meticulously inspected for damage, accurately scanned into our inventory system, and placed in its correct storage location.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving & Unloading:
Safely unload furniture shipments from trailers and containers. Verify that physical counts match the Bill of Lading (BOL) and packing slips. Quality Control (QC): Perform a high-level inspection of all products upon arrival. Identify and document manufacturer defects or transit damage. Report discrepancies to the supervisor immediately.
Product Prep:
Unbox and "de-trash" items as needed. Ensure furniture is properly protected and padded before being moved to the racking system.
Put-Away Operations:
Transport goods from the receiving dock to assigned locations.
Dock Maintenance:
Keep the receiving area clean and free of debris (cardboard, plastic wrap, pallets) to maintain a safe and efficient workflow.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques for heavy/bulky items and the safe operation of trucks.
Qualifications:
Physical Ability:
Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and be able to move oversized furniture (sofas, armoires, etc.). Must be comfortable standing/walking for the duration of the shift. Attention to
Detail:
Ability to spot minor finish defects or fabric tears and differentiate between similar model numbers.
Reliability:
Strong attendance record and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines Preferred Experience 1+ years of experience in a warehouse or distribution center. Previous experience specifically in the furniture or home goods industry.
