Job Description

General Laborer Summary Under supervision, may assist in the in-coming material inspection process; may also assist in the processing of material for customer shipment. May identify, grade and/or sort different grades of scrap iron and steel. Includes reviewing all in-bound material for non-conforming items May sort and process iron according to customer specifications May assist with auto de-manufacturing function Shovel fluff as needed to keep build-up from piling up around conveyors May move other material in the yard utilizing equipment Other responsibilities as assigned or required
Safety:
Wears all necessary Personal Protective Equipment when working in the yard. Follows company safety standards at all times. Failure to follow ALL safety requirements may result in loss of position.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Must be able to interact with customers and vendors in a friendly and courteous manner. Prior experience operating heavy machinery preferred but not required as we will train candidates. Some mechanical know-how necessary. May use hand tools for minor repairs. Must be able to lift a minimum of 30-50 lbs and 100+lbs on 2-person lift.
