Material Handler Job Description This role is responsible for safely moving materials, preparing accurate kits for manufacturing, and maintaining inventory within a warehouse and component cage environment. You will assemble parts and materials into complete kits for specific work cells, verify inventory quantities, maintain required documentation, and operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. You work independently on your shift, coordinating closely with first-shift production to ensure a smooth handoff and continuous workflow. Responsibilities Move materials throughout the warehouse and component cage to support manufacturing operations. Prepare and assemble complete kits of parts and materials for each work station or work cell, such as grouping screws, bolts, wires, solder, and related components according to production requirements. Verify inventory quantities and assist with maintaining appropriate inventory levels to support production schedules. Maintain accurate and complete paperwork and documentation related to material movement, kitting, and inventory. Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe and efficient manner. Load and unload trailers using a forklift as needed to support shipping, receiving, and internal material flow. Work independently as the sole material handler on the shift, coordinating tasks and prioritizing work to meet production needs. Collaborate with first-shift production personnel during the overlap period to ensure a clear and efficient handoff of materials and kits. Follow established safety procedures and guidelines while handling materials and operating equipment. Use hand tools throughout the shift to prepare and organize parts and materials for kitting and distribution. Essential Skills Experience with material handling in a warehouse, manufacturing, or similar environment. Ability to perform kitting by organizing and bundling parts and materials into complete kits for specific work stations. Basic inventory skills, including verifying quantities and supporting inventory level maintenance. Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely; may require or be able to obtain equipment certification. Comfort working independently as the only material handler on the shift while following direction from supervisors and personnel. Moderate understanding of general warehouse and material handling tasks, with the ability to follow established procedures. Ability to stand on your feet and lift materials throughout the entire shift. Reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent production operations. Willingness to work Monday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM, with potential for additional hours and occasional Saturdays. 0-1 year of general work experience, or equivalent ability to perform the duties described. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in electronics manufacturing or parts inventory environments. Familiarity with handling small parts such as screws, bolts, wires, and related components. Prior forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification as required. Comfort using hand tools regularly throughout the workday. Ability to maintain organized work areas and accurately complete documentation. Strong attention to detail when assembling kits and verifying inventory. Why Work Here? There is potential for additional work hours, including some Saturdays, depending on operational needs. You will spend most of the day on your feet, lifting materials regularly and using hand tools throughout the shift. The role involves frequent operation of warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, as well as loading and unloading trailers. The workplace allows you to listen to music while you work, contributing to a focused and comfortable environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of La Vista, NE.
