Full Job Description Job Purpose:
The Material Handler at NOVO Building Products is responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and handling of materials within the warehouse or manufacturing facility. This role ensures that materials are available for production and distribution in a timely manner, contributing to the smooth operation of the company's supply chain and production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and supplies against purchase orders and packing lists. Safely and efficiently transport materials to designated storage areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment. Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular stock counts to ensure inventory accuracy. Collaborate with the production team to ensure materials are available for manufacturing processes. Prepare and package materials for shipment according to customer specifications and company standards. Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while performing material handling tasks. Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate material handling activities. Identify and report any discrepancies or issues related to inventory or material handling to management.
Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Experience with material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, is preferred. Familiarity with inventory management systems and processes is advantageous.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials and documenting inventory. Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 50 pounds, on a regular basis. Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively. Proficient in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with team members and supervisors. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to following safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment.
