Responsibilities:
This position assists workers engaged in processing sheet metal products by performing the following duties: Holds tape measuring and other measuring devices to perform dimensional verification of finished products. Assists line operator in record keeping of production and material utilization. Loads, stack, transports stocks and work in process by hand or truck. Cleans up and trim metal preparatory to manufacturing, packaging or shipping. Picks up, stacks and straps scrap from work area. Performs general shop floor clean up and maintenance. Follows all safety rules and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Reports unsafe conditions and uses equipment and materials safely. Performs other routine duties as directed.
Qualifications & Physical Requirements:
No prior experience required; on‑the‑job training provided. Ability to perform the essential duties of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to stand for most of the work shift and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly lifts up to 10 lbs; occasionally lifts up to 25 lbs. Must have basic vision (distance and peripheral) and be able to communicate with coworkers. Work environment may be loud and includes moving machinery. Position is located in a manufacturing setting with equipment such as conveyor systems, automated packaging machines, wood saws, and forklift traffic. Starting rate is $19.00 per hour.
