Company:
The Sclafani family began in the food industry in the late 1800s when Marie Sclafani and her husband came to the United States from Italy with their four sons. Over the years, the family developed the Sclafani® brand into a line of products that included canned tomatoes and vegetables, pasta, olive oil and other Italian specialties. In the 1950s, Dominick Sclafani, a culinary talent, developed a unique fully prepared pizza sauce, which he named Don Pepino®. The sauce became one of the company's best sellers, and the original recipe is still used to this day. Today, the Sclafani® and Don Pepino® brands are part of the newly named Violet Foods. These iconic brands are recognized as two of the finest brands of canned tomatoes and sauces in the industry. Their secret is the quality of the fresh tomatoes used to make every recipe.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently to minimize risk to personnel and damage to inventory and equipment. Use equipment to move materials within the plant. Replenish pick slots. Demonstrate safe work practices to prevent on-the-job injuries by following all company and OSHA safety regulations. Load finished product and custom orders onto trailers in the correct sequence and according to loading requirements, while ensuring an accurate piece count. Operate a wrapping machine to wrap finished orders. Adhere to lockout-tagout procedures. Place proper documentation on pallets. Read the truck schedule and follow instructions to determine which materials or trucks to be moved. Perform tasks as directed by the Warehouse Management System (WMS). Work as a member of the warehouse team by communicating information to coworkers on time to ensure efficient operation of the warehouse. Perform daily inspection checks on forklifts. Complete accurate inventory transactions promptly, to reflect material movement and inventory status. Operate dock plates and dock locks following company procedures. Maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions in the warehouse, daily. Identify problems with equipment, product quality, conveyor system, etc., and take corrective action. Use care when loading and stacking pallets on trailers to ensure that the product arrives at the customer damage-free. Use dunnage bags, load bars, and load straps, as needed. Complete HACCP outbound trailer inspection and report any deficiencies to the supervisor immediately. Turn completed paperwork in daily. Assist in recouping damaged finished products and transport damaged products to recoup pallets. Perform other duties as assigned.

Must become familiar with plant layout for efficient material movement. Possess a high school diploma or GED. Must learn how to operate the Warehouse Management System Candidate must complete a Qualification Checklist Onsite training specific to job responsibilities. Must possess or obtain forklift certification.
Protective Clothing and Devices:
Many of the job duties of this position require you to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), if so, when and how to use this equipment will be explained to you at the time of hire. To determine the ability to perform job functions where the use of a respirator is required, employees will be given a physical examination before performing this type of work. SQF Responsible for reporting any food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action. Work Environment:
This position is in a manufacturing plant environment, works around moving mechanical parts, works around motorized vehicles and may be exposed to varying temperatures. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs May be required to work at heights up to 30ft off the ground Majority of time spent operating a motorized vehicle
