Description

As a Receiving Material Handler, you will be responsible for unloading trucks both big and small (LTL and small parcel). Trucks will be unloaded on rolling carts and or pallets. Daily tasks consist of entering the receipts for the day's deliveries, creating labels and filing paperwork for said deliveries, keeping the warehouse and your area neat and in order, helping with distributing material throughout the production facility, processing returned goods and sending them the customer service department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES

Communicate with inbound transportation provider

Schedule delivery

Assist carrier with US Customs import clearance

Physically receive freight

Accurately verify material received with vendor packing list

Record all discrepancies

Transact shipment details accurately into ERPIn

Assist with moving and putting away material

File all documents

Adhere to all Safety, Quality, Environment, Security and Employee Handbook regulations

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A RECEIVING MATERIAL HANDLER
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. One to three years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience). Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to log in, log out, and easily navigate through MS Windows-based interface.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Communicate with US customs broker/freight forwarder to assist with classifying import for US Customs clearance. Familiarity with Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States.

Hoist and Forklift certification.

SALARY RANGE

The starting hourly rate for the role is between USD $18.00 to $22.00. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for variable bonus programs and benefits.
