Job Description

Overview The Material Handler is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse and production areas. This role supports production operations by ensuring materials are properly identified, verified, staged, scanned, handled, and returned in accordance with company procedures, inventory controls, safety standards, and quality requirements. The Material Handler plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting production flow, and ensuring materials are available when needed. Responsibilities Handle incoming, outgoing, and internal material movements throughout the warehouse and production floor. Ensure materials are stored in designated locations and are readily available for production use. Read and interpret pick lists, inventory reports, pallet tickets, and internal documentation. Verify that item codes, lot numbers, quantities, and expiration dates match system documentation and pallet labeling prior to material release. Pull inventory using FEFO (First Expired, First Out) methodology and company inventory procedures. Stage materials for production lines in an organized and accurate manner. Scan bulk materials and components into the appropriate production lines using warehouse computer systems and scanning equipment. Confirm that materials scanned to the line match the assigned order and allocated lots. Demonstrate the ability to identify and correct written documentation errors in accordance with company procedures, including proper use of corrections and footnotes where applicable. Ensure bulk containers and component containers are clean and free of dust, debris, or residue prior to delivery to production. Return unused inventory and materials to designated reconciliation or inventory control areas upon completion of production orders. Verify quantities pulled to production by comparing pallet tickets, pick lists, system reports, and physical inventory. Operate approved material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment. Maintain knowledge of warehouse layout, storage locations, traffic flow, and material organization. Follow all safety procedures, GMP requirements, sanitation procedures, and company policies. Assist with cycle counts, inventory investigations, and material reconciliation activities as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready work environment. Communicate inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, safety concerns, or operational issues to leadership immediately. Perform any other duties or tasks assigned by leadership. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling experience preferred. Forklift certification or ability to become certified required. Basic computer and scanning system knowledge preferred. Ability to read and understand pick lists, pallet tickets, inventory reports, and production documentation. Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Pay Range USD $18.00 - USD $22.00 /Hr.
