About Us Durango Machining Innovations is a locally owned-operated machine shop serving regional and international customers, specialize in high-tolerance precision mill-turn machining of production jobs. We manage individual parts and assemblies, as well as jobs requiring additional vendors such as plating/anodizing, laser engraving, powder coating, sheet-metal, and plastic molding. We provide full in-house quality control, including CMM and first article inspection. Durango Machining Innovations is a growing CNC machining company focused on delivering high-precision components. Job Summary As a Material Handler / Laborer, you will be responsible for supporting material preparation, sandblasting, and finishing operations. This role involves handling customer inventory, performing general labor tasks, operating industrial and sandblasting equipment, and assisting with inventory management to ensure efficient and high-quality production processes. The position requires attention to detail, physical stamina, basic troubleshooting skills, and strict adherence to safety and procedural guidelines. Compensation $20-$25 per hour, based on experience Responsibilities Organize and stage customer inventory according to job requirements. Load, unload, and move materials, parts, and components safely. Perform general labor duties in support of production and finishing operations. Prepare materials for machining, sandblasting, and finishing processes. Operate and assist with sandblasting and other industrial equipment as trained. Inspect finished parts and prepare them for storage or shipment. Help maintain inventory accuracy, material labeling, and job tracking. Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe, including sandblasting and prep areas. Follow all safety rules, wear required PPE, and support overall production needs. Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings or work instructions. Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to safety, detail and quality standards. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks. Comfortable working in a noisy, industrial setting.
