About the
Role:
The Data Warehouse Applications Technician plays a critical role in supporting and maintaining the data warehouse infrastructure that enables efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis across the organization. This position ensures the smooth operation of data warehouse applications by troubleshooting issues, performing routine maintenance, and implementing updates or enhancements. The technician collaborates closely with data engineers, analysts, and IT teams to optimize data workflows and support business intelligence initiatives. By managing data integration processes and monitoring system performance, the role contributes to the accuracy and availability of data for decision-making. Ultimately, this position is essential for sustaining a reliable and scalable data environment that meets the evolving needs of the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience with data warehouse technologies and applications, including ETL tools. Proficiency in SQL and database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, or similar. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues. Familiarity with data integration concepts and data modeling principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline. Experience with cloud-based data warehouse platforms such as AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Azure Synapse. Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation tasks. Understanding of business intelligence tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker. Certifications related to data warehousing, database administration, or cloud technologies.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and maintain data warehouse applications to ensure optimal performance and availability. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement application updates, patches, and enhancements. Support data integration efforts by managing connections between various data sources and the warehouse. Document system configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions to maintain knowledge base and compliance. Assist in testing new data warehouse features and validating data accuracy post-deployment. Provide technical support and training to end-users and stakeholders as needed.
