Material Handler Job Description This role focuses on material handling and inventory control to ensure the production floor receives accurate and timely materials. You will move materials based on pick lists, perform cycle counts, and support warehouse operations using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF scanners. The position requires attention to detail, basic computer skills, and a strong commitment to accuracy and safety in a fast-paced, climate-controlled facility. Responsibilities Work from pick lists to locate, stage, and deliver the correct materials to production floors in a timely and accurate manner. Perform inventory control tasks, including regular cycle counts and reconciliation of stock levels. Pick, count, label, and transact parts in the inventory system to maintain accurate records. Load and unload trucks, boxes, containers, and carts safely and efficiently. Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and adjust errors in the inventory system as needed. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF scanners to move and track materials. Use basic computer applications, including Excel, to enter cycle counts and update inventory records. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the warehouse and on the production floor. Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines while handling materials and operating equipment. Essential Skills Experience with material handling in a warehouse or production environment. Proficiency in inventory control activities, including cycle counts and stock reconciliation. Ability to operate a forklift safely and effectively. Ability to operate a pallet jack to move materials and products. Experience using an RF scanner for picking, counting, and tracking inventory. Basic computer skills, including the ability to use Excel for data entry and inventory transactions. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when picking, counting, and labeling parts. Ability to load and unload trucks, boxes, containers, and carts safely. Capability to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, or warehouse setting. Comfort working with technology and learning new inventory systems. Willingness to cross-train in different areas of the operation. Interest in developing skills for advancement opportunities within the facility. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a brand-new, climate-controlled facility with modern lighting and an on-site cafeteria. You will work primarily on the first shift, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The environment includes warehouse and production floor areas where you will use forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF scanners to handle and track materials. The facility emphasizes safety, organization, and cleanliness, providing a comfortable and structured setting for material handling and inventory work. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Newark, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
