Job Description
- Job Title: Warehouse Associate
- Job Description
- The Warehouse Associate plays a key role in ensuring accurate, efficient, and safe movement of materials within a clean, well-organized distribution center.
This position operates Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and focuses on preparing outbound shipments, receiving inbound materials, and maintaining accurate inventory records using material handling equipment and scanning technology.
- Responsibilities
- + Prepare shipments for postal or commercial carriers by determining the most economical and efficient shipping method, selecting appropriate containers, and packing items to ensure safe delivery.
+ Prepare bills of lading and verify items to be shipped against work orders to ensure quantities, destinations, and routing information are correct.
+ Receive and unload incoming materials, comparing packing slips with purchase orders to verify the accuracy of shipments.
+ Sort, count, package, label, insure, unpack, and log inventory for all materials that are shipped or received.
+ Use equipment such as scan guns, RF scanners, pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, tow motors, reach trucks, sit-down and stand-up forklifts, and box cutters to move, track, and process inventory.
+ Perform order picking and order selecting to fulfill customer orders accurately and on time.
+ Handle general material handling tasks including loading, unloading, and staging products in designated warehouse locations.
+ Maintain accurate inventory control by recording movements, adjustments, and counts in inventory management or data entry systems.
+ Ensure packaging and shrink wrapping of products meet safety and quality standards for transport.
+ Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area to support a safe distribution environment.
+ Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily shipping, receiving, and inventory goals while supporting a positive and efficient workflow.
- Essential Skills
- + Experience with warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, order picking, packing, and general material handling.
+ Proficiency using forklifts (sit-down and stand-up), pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, tow motors, and reach trucks in a warehouse environment.
+ Ability to use RF scan guns, scan guns, and other inventory tracking tools to perform accurate picking, logging, and inventory management.
+ Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, including preparing bills of lading and verifying work orders, packing slips, and purchase orders.
+ Basic computer skills and data entry capabilities to update inventory records and shipping documentation.
+ Ability to work independently while maintaining positive working relationships with team members, management, and customers.
+ Capability to handle average-weight objects up to 20 lbs on a regular basis and lift items up to 60 lbs as needed.
+ Comfort working in environments with moderate exposure to elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, and dust.
+ Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to ensure accurate counts, labels, and documentation.
+ Experience driving large box trucks is preferred.
- Additional Skills & Qualifications
- + Prior experience in warehouse inventory control, inventory management, and order selecting.
+ Background in loading, unloading, and packaging in a distribution or logistics environment.
+ Familiarity with shrink wrap equipment, box cutters, and other common warehouse tools.
+ Experience in general labor roles within a warehouse or distribution center.
+ Comfort working with shipping and receiving systems and basic computer-based inventory platforms.
+ Ability to adapt to established processes and contribute to a well-organized, safety-focused workplace.

The environment may involve moderate exposure to elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, and dust, and requires regular handling of items up to 20 lbs and occasionally up to 60 lbs.

- This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, OH.
- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $19.
00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
