Material Handler - 1st Shift

I. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate forklift/truck to transport materials within departments and between local plant locations.

II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Supports departments by transporting parts and material to designated areas as needed. Verifies parts and material by reviewing information on tags prior to movement through facilities. May be required to load and unload trucks. Tiers up tote boxes in stacks for storage in warehouse or storage yard. Maintains forklift/truck by operating under guidelines and policy. Complies with safety regulations governing operation of the equipment. Wears appropriate safety equipment for work being performed and as directed by company policy. Maintains a safe work environment through good housekeeping practices. All other duties as assigned.

III. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Successful completion of on-the-job training. Physical strength sufficient to lift and carry 25 pounds frequently. Physical ability to climb on and off forklift with possible long periods of sitting, long periods of standing, walking throughout plant. Sufficient visual acuity to operate forklift and read necessary documents.

IV. SCHEDULE

1st shift: 6:00 am-2:30 pm.
