  • Job Description
  • Teledyne Qioptiq has an immediate need for an enthusiastic
  • Material Handler
  • who will be responsible for assisting and conducting the receipt, storage, internal delivery and other material movements as necessary to support our production operations.
  • What you'll do:
  • + Physically receiving material and internal movements.
+ Creating and executing appropriate SAP transactions. Production line support, storage and traceability requirements. + Interface with engineering, production and purchasing to coordinate material movements as needed. + Compliance with all written procedures for inventory and material handling activities. + Efficient movement of materials required to meet production schedules. + Identify, track and escalate material shortages as appropriate. + Building component "kits" as required to support production operations. + Inventory accuracy; material organization, material stocking and delivery, cycle counts and physical inventory activities as required. + Identify and resolve inventory variances and related issues. + Document storage and retention in accordance with Teledyne Qioptiq requirements. + Execution of vendor returns when appropriate/required. + Preparation, palletization and execution of outbound shipments, including hazardous materials shipping. + Consignment inventory tracking, usage and cost accuracy.
  • Physical requirements:
  • + Must be able to lift 30 lbs. on a consistent basis. + Must be able to physically move supplies up and down stairs. + Must be able to use a 5-step ladder with handrails. + Hand and eye coordination required to operate a computer and mouse.
  • Preferred skills:
  • + Excel experience is desired + SAP experience is desired
  • What you need:
  • + High school diploma or GED required + A minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing setting + A minimum of 1 year of experience with inventory control + Computer skills - inventory is kept in SAP and parts are issued out of inventory + MS Word experience is required + Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
The right person will work closely with the Master Scheduler and Material Planner in a team environment to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction. + Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail + Please note due to the requirements from the Department of Energy,
