Job Description

Job Title:
Material Handler | 2nd Shift | $22+HR Job Description The Material Handler supports production and shipping operations by selecting, staging, packaging, and moving materials to meet customer-specific requirements. This role operates forklifts and related equipment, completes documentation in SAP, and maintains high productivity and accuracy on either 2nd or 3rd shift. Responsibilities Select and stage feedstock to fulfill customer orders according to order sheets and order documentation. Break down bulk bundles into smaller quantities to meet customer-specific requirements. Package materials in accordance with customer specifications, including proper use of strapping machines and other packaging tools. Operate sit-down and side-loader forklifts safely to transport materials throughout the facility. Use hand and power tools as needed to prepare, adjust, or secure materials for production and shipment. Accurately complete all required documentation for shipping and receiving, ensuring information is correct and legible. Confirm and process SAP work orders via computer to record material movements and transactions. Maintain high productivity levels in finished goods production while meeting quality and accuracy standards. Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety-related activities and certifications. Perform additional duties as assigned, understanding that responsibilities and activities may change as business needs evolve. Essential Skills Proven forklift experience, with the ability to operate either stand-up or sit-down forklifts safely. Experience operating a side-loader forklift or willingness to learn side-loader operation. Minimum of two years of related work experience preferred in material handling, warehouse, or manufacturing environments. Ability to successfully complete a skills-based assessment evaluating reading comprehension, math skills, inspection and measurement accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving. Demonstrated reliable and consistent attendance in previous roles. Basic math proficiency to perform measurements, counts, and simple calculations. Comfort using computers and basic software systems, including entering and confirming data in systems such as SAP. Ability to meet physical requirements of the role, including passing evaluations for vision, hearing, and mobility. Capability to use hand and power tools safely in a production or warehouse setting. Strong attention to detail when following order sheets, order documentation, and packaging specifications. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a 2nd or 3rd shift position, with typical schedules such as 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., and includes a shift differential for off-shift work. You work in a well-kept production and warehouse environment where some scrap material may be present but is managed and controlled. The facility has around 50 employees on the floor, creating a busy yet manageable team-oriented atmosphere. Daily work involves operating sit-down and side-loader forklifts, using hand and power tools, and working with packaging equipment such as strapping machines. You use computers and basic software systems, including SAP, to complete documentation and confirm work orders. The environment emphasizes safety, productivity, and organization, with clear processes and ongoing training to support efficient and secure operations. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
