General Labor

SummaryUnder direction of the Supervisor, the General Labor employee is responsible for identifying, assembling, packing, sorting, painting, grinding and separating parts by hand in accordance with company policies and procedures. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

Load and unload parts to and from the paint lineCheck parts off the paint line, making sure all finished pieces are prepped for shippingExamine work and perform quality checks dailyPack material ensuring all quality standards are met for all partsDrive forklift (if certified) to move parts around the plantWork assembly line if requiredCheck work area for hazardsComplete any required paperwork (both in paper and electronically)Leave work area in a clean/safe state when shift is complete QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or ExperienceHigh school degree preferredExperience working in a manufacturing environment preferredOperating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment is a plusUnderstanding the use of ruler and measuring tape Language SkillsAbility to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization. Bilingual English/Spanish helpful, but not required. Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, common fractions and decimals. Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instruction provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
