Autobox Tool Works sells machine tool accessories and small machinery — drill chucks, collets, tooling, benchtop lathes and mills — to hobbyists, machine shops, and resellers across the US. We ship from our Toledo warehouse to customers buying through eBay, Amazon, and our own website. We're small and growing.
This job is two things:
getting every order out the door correctly, and being the person who can open up a returned machine, find what's wrong, and fix it. What you'll do Shipping and warehouse (about 60%): Pick, pack, and ship daily orders across eBay, Amazon, and Shopify Print labels, choose carriers, weigh and measure packages Package heavy items (up to ~150 lbs, occasionally palletized) so they arrive undamaged Schedule UPS/FedEx pickups and prepare LTL freight when needed Receive inbound inventory, run cycle counts, keep bins labeled and stock organized Inspection and repair (about 40%): Inspect and test customer returns — defective, damaged in transit, or working fine? Diagnose and repair equipment on your own: disassembly, mechanical repair, basic hydraulics, basic electrical troubleshooting Sort and tag defective parts for warranty claims Occasional on-site service calls at customer locations within driving distance (company vehicle or your own, mileage reimbursed) Write clear service notes: what failed, what you did, what parts were used Schedule 24 hours per week over 3 or 4 days, roughly 6-8 hours a day, on-site in Toledo. We're flexible on which days as long as orders ship the same business day. We set a fixed schedule with you and stick to it — steady hours, not scattered shifts.
Requirements Strong hands-on ability:
mechanical repair, basic hydraulics, basic electrical troubleshooting, and the judgment to solve problems on site without waiting for instructions Careful with details — our products look alike, and shipping the wrong chuck size means a return and an unhappy customer Reliable and punctual Valid driver's license, willing to drive to occasional customer service calls Basic computer skills: printing labels, entering tracking numbers, writing short notes Able to lift 50 lbs regularly and move heavier items with a hand truck or pallet jack Able to read a tape measure and a scale accurately Authorized to work in the US Preferred Hands-on repair experience with benchtop lathes, mills, drill presses, or small industrial machine tools — this is the biggest factor in where your pay lands Service experience with blowers, pumps, or general industrial equipment also counts Warehouse, shipping, or fulfillment experience ShipStation, Pirate Ship, eBay, or Amazon Seller Central experience Pallet jack or forklift experience No age limit and no prior experience with our specific products required. We care about what you can do with your hands and whether you can solve a problem by yourself. We'll train you, and everything has a written procedure. Why work here $22-$25/hour paid weekly, above the local warehouse average because this job needs a technician, not just a packer. Fixed 24-hour schedule you can plan around. Tools provided, mileage reimbursed. Small team, direct communication, no layers of management. Hours, pay, and responsibility can grow with the business for the right person. Resume welcome but not required. If you've fixed machines you're proud of, a couple of photos tell us more than a resume does. Autobox Tool Works is an equal opportunity employer. We consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
