Job Description

Job Title:
General CNC Operator - Plastic Injection Molding (2nd Shift) Job Description This role involves setting up and operating custom Haas CNC plastic injection mold machines to cut long plastic tubes into small rings while maintaining high quality standards. You will perform precise measurements using digital gauges and other inspection tools, change fixtures as needed, and contribute to a clean, organized, and climate-controlled manufacturing environment. One position will focus on Mazak lathe operation, and another will include team lead responsibilities. Responsibilities Set up and operate custom Haas CNC plastic injection mold machines to cut long tubes of plastic into small rings according to specifications. Perform quality checks on parts using digital gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other inspection tools to ensure parts meet dimensional and quality requirements. Conduct visual inspections to identify defects or inconsistencies in finished parts and take corrective action as needed. Change out fixtures and tooling on CNC machines as required for different jobs and setups. Monitor machine operations, make necessary adjustments, and ensure machines run efficiently and safely throughout the shift. Document inspection results and communicate quality or production issues to the appropriate team members. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with facility standards. Collaborate with team members and support continuous improvement initiatives in production and quality processes.
For the Mazak-focused position:
operate and adjust Mazak lathes, ensuring accurate machining and adherence to job specifications.
For the team lead-focused position:
coordinate daily activities on the floor, support and guide team members, help prioritize work, and assist with training and problem-solving as needed. Essential Skills Previous experience working with CNC machines or similar equipment in a manufacturing setting. Hands-on CNC operation experience, including basic setup and machine adjustments. Ability to perform quality checks using digital gauges, micrometers, and calipers (digital gauge experience preferred). Comfort with quality inspection, including quality control, quality checks, and visual inspection of parts. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and work with mechanical systems and tooling. Experience working in a manufacturing environment with production and inspection responsibilities. Attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift (3:30 PM to 11:30 PM), Monday through Friday. Ability to work overtime on many days and occasionally on Saturdays as production requires. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Haas CNC machines and injection mold machining. Experience with Mazak lathe operation for the Mazak-focused position. Prior experience in a lead or team lead role in a manufacturing environment for the team lead-focused position. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot basic machine and quality issues. Solid communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and supervisors. Background in inspection work, including dimensional checks and documentation, is beneficial. Experience in a clean, organized, and climate-controlled manufacturing facility is a plus. Why Work Here? This is a 2nd shift position running from 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a shift premium for 2nd shift and frequent overtime, including some Saturdays. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troy, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.16 - $18.16/hr.
