General Laborer

Parks Metal - General Laborer (Sheet Metal Fabrication) Position Summary The General Laborer at Parks Metal supports daily production within a sheet metal fabrication environment. This role is responsible for assisting machine operators, handling materials, finishing parts, and maintaining an efficient and safe shop workflow. The position requires dependability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. Key Responsibilities Load and unload sheet metal, plate, and fabricated parts Support laser, press brake, shear, and turret operations Deburr, grind, and clean parts to meet Parks Metal quality standards Sort, count, and package parts per job travelers Perform basic inspections using tape measures and calipers Maintain clean work areas and follow 5S practices Assist with material movement using carts or pallet jacks Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements Support other areas of the shop as production demands Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Manufacturing or fabrication experience is a plus Ability to read basic shop drawings and work instructions Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, measurements) Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift in a manufacturing environment. Work Environment Indoor fabrication shop with exposure to noise, metal dust, and machinery. PPE is required at all times, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots.
