Job Title:
Material Handler Job Description This role focuses on supporting production by accurately pulling and kitting parts for assemblers in a warehouse environment. You operate handheld scanners, handle electronic and mechanical components, and ensure that kits are prepared correctly and on time. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and documentation are essential to maintain quality and efficiency in the assembly process. Responsibilities Pull parts and materials from inventory to build kits for assemblers according to production requirements and documentation. Operate handheld scanners to locate, verify, and track parts and materials within the warehouse. Perform kitting activities to ensure all required components are included and properly labeled for assembly operations. Handle and prepare electronic components used in aircraft and submarine assemblies, following established procedures. Read and interpret blueprints, wire tabulation, and other technical documentation to support accurate part selection and kitting. Support circuit board and electronic assembly processes by ensuring correct parts and materials are available at the right time. Assist with cable assembly, wire harness preparation, crimping, and wiring-related tasks as needed to support production. Work on or near assembly lines to ensure continuous material flow and minimize production delays. Follow quality control procedures to verify parts, detect discrepancies, and maintain high standards of accuracy and completeness. Use hand tools and follow mechanical assembly practices safely and correctly when handling components. Collaborate with assemblers and other team members to resolve material issues and maintain smooth operations. Adhere to all safety, cleanliness, and handling guidelines within a clean and controlled work environment. Meet overtime expectations when required to support production schedules and customer demands. Essential Skills Ability to operate handheld scanners for part pulling, verification, and inventory tracking. Strong attention to detail when pulling, kitting, and scanning parts and materials. Experience with assembly or material handling in a warehouse or production environment. Ability to read and understand blueprints and wire tabulation to support accurate kitting. Familiarity with electronic assembly processes, including circuit board assembly and repair. Basic mechanical aptitude, including working with mechanical assembly and hand tools. Understanding of quality control principles and practices in an assembly or production setting. High school diploma or GED. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Johnstown, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
