Full-time Report To:
Plant Manager / Department Supervisor Job Overview The General Laborer is responsible for supporting multiple areas of the manufacturing process including fabrication, powder coating, and final assembly. This position assists with material handling, part preparation, equipment operation, product finishing, and shipping preparation while ensuring all work is performed safely, accurately, and efficiently. Duties and Responsibilities Assist in the movement, staging, and organization of materials throughout the facility Hang, prep, wash, and powder coat parts according to specifications Select correct materials, finishes, and colors for each job Grind, deburr, and prepare parts for fabrication and assembly Support brake press operators with setup and material flow Inspect work for quality, proper coating coverage, and adherence to drawings/specifications Perform basic dimensional checks using measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.) Assemble products and prepare finished goods for shipment Operate forklifts, hoists, and other equipment as needed (if trained/authorized) Load and unload materials, trucks, and trailers Complete required documentation including checklists, work orders, and tracking systems Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow all company SOPs, JSAs, and safety procedures Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals Perform other duties as assigned by supervision
Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma or GED required Vo-Tech or Trade School experience preferred
Experience:
1-2 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
Skills:
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Ability to read basic drawings and measurements Strong attention to detail and quality Basic math skills (including fractions and decimals) Forklift and/or hoist experience preferred Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Exposure to loud noise (hearing protection may be required) Exposure to dust, chemicals, and fumes (respirator may be required) Repetitive motions including lifting, reaching, and handling parts Use of PPE including gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and other equipment as required Position Level Entry-Level to Intermediate (based on experience) Growth Opportunity This position provides an opportunity to develop skills across multiple departments, with potential advancement into specialized roles such as:
