Material Handler Job Description We are seeking a skilled Material Handler/Forklift Operator to support our fabrication and assembly areas by efficiently running equipment and feeding raw materials to welders and machinists. The primary focus will be on operating sit-down forklifts, with occasional operation of other equipment, including overhead cranes. Responsibilities Operate sit-down forklifts to transport materials within the facility. Assist in feeding raw materials to welders and machinists. Occasionally run other equipment such as overhead cranes. Ensure timely and accurate transport of parts and materials to designated locations. Maintain safety standards and adhere to protocols while operating equipment. Essential Skills Proficiency in operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts. Minimum of 6 months forklift experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications No high school diploma or GED required. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role involves working in both indoor and outdoor environments, often on rough terrain. Safety gear, including metatarsal steel toes, safety glasses, and hearing protection, is mandatory and provided. The atmosphere is musky and dirty, with concrete floors. Expect to stand 50% of the time or more, and be prepared to work in all weather conditions. Typical attire includes jeans and a t-shirt or sweatshirt, with restrictions on shorts and sweatpants. Be ready to meet deadlines and engage in significant overtime. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shady Grove, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $18.75/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
