The Facilities Division invites applications for the position of Warehouse Stock Clerk in the Stores and Receiving Department. In collaboration with university partners, the Facilities Stores and Receiving Department accepts and distributes materials to on-campus departments in a timely manner to support student success. The Warehouse Stock Clerk is responsible for the manual and administrative work required to ensure an efficient warehouse and inventory control system including moving, delivery, inventory and recordkeeping. The ideal candidate demonstrates experience working in a warehouse with forklift and storeroom machinery, customer service experience, experience using an electronic work order system and Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to work independently and take initiative. Responsibilities include:
Maintain supply inventory Record incoming and outgoing shipments Accept deliveries from outside vendors and ensure quantity and quality Operate storeroom equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move oversized or heavy materials Store goods in proper spaces using efficient methods Make deliveries of material and equipment on campus Assemble and pack outgoing shipments Contact transportation companies to arrange for shipments Complete physical inventories of stock Initiate requisitions for reorder of stock items Ensure clean and safe work environment Ensure security with key access and alarm systems Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications One year of experience in stockroom, warehouse, or clerical work; and graduation from high school OR any equivalent combination of experience and training A valid driver's license
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of storeroom methods and procedures Knowledge of various kinds, grades, and uses of supplies Knowledge of transportation agencies and shipment methods Knowledge of inventory control systems and procedures Ability to keep inventory and stores records Ability to pack goods properly for shipment Ability to follow oral and written instructions Sufficient physical condition to permit the lifting and moving of heavy objects Preferred Qualifications Experience in a warehouse setting Experience with forklift and storeroom machinery Experience using an electronic work order system Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel Customer service experience As a member of the Facilities Divisional staff, this position is deemed "essential" and must remain or report to work during partial or full day closings of the University due to hazardous road conditions, emergency circumstances or for other reasons.
