General Laborer (Fabrication Job Shop) 1st
Shift Hours:
Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm $16-19/hr Start ASAP Job Description Join a busy fabrication job shop as a General Laborer (Floater) where you support multiple areas of the facility throughout the day. You will assist with production, basic machine support, material handling, and warehouse tasks in a temperature-controlled environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, working with their hands, and being an active part of a team-driven manufacturing operation. Responsibilities Work as a floater across different areas of the fabrication shop, supporting both machine operations and warehouse activities as needed. Count parts accurately and assist with loading and unloading shipments to keep inventory and production flowing smoothly. Help operate the PEM machine by performing basic button-pushing tasks and stacking finished parts safely and efficiently. Support the press brake machine by loading raw material and unloading finished parts, ensuring materials are handled carefully. Lift and move materials and parts weighing up to 50-60 pounds on a regular basis while following safe lifting practices. Assist around vertical CNC machines, lathes, band saws, iron welders, punch presses, and other shop equipment as directed by supervisors or machine operators. Perform general labor tasks such as packing, organizing work areas, and preparing materials for production or shipment. Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines at all times, including the use of required personal protective equipment. Collaborate with team members across the shop floor and warehouse to complete tasks efficiently and support production goals. Maintain reliable attendance and arrive on time for scheduled shifts to support consistent operations. Work Environment This position is based in a fabrication job shop that includes a machine area with vertical CNCs, lathes, band saws, iron welders, punch presses, and related equipment, as well as a warehouse and inventory area. The facility is temperature controlled, providing a comfortable environment throughout the year. The standard schedule is a first-shift role from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with breaks from 7:50 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. to 10:10 a.m. The dress code requires pants, a t-shirt, steel-toe shoes, and safety glasses, with additional personal protective equipment provided as needed for specific tasks. The work is active and hands-on, involving regular lifting, movement around the shop floor, and close collaboration with production and warehouse teams. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York Haven, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
