Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking an Inventory Material Control Support Specialist - Level 1 to join our team in Dulles, VA. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. The Inventory Material Control Support Specialist compiles records concerned with quantity, cost, and type of material received, in stock, or issued. Requisitions of needed supplies; verifies material received to determine irregularities in order; inspects articles and rejects defective ones. Also, prepares inventory records and reports and investigates discrepancies in stock counts. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. In this job, you will:- Perform a combination of manual and clerical duties to receive, store, and issue equipment, materials, and supplies in a central warehouse.
- Examine stock to verify conformance to specifications and invoices; stores articles according to identifying factors; fills orders or issues supplies from stock; requisitions stock to fill incoming orders; and prepares stock use reports.
- Determine methods or places for storage considering guidelines for temperature, humidity, weight or height limits, turnover, floor loading capacity, and required space. Exclude shipping and/or receiving clerks.
- Pay attention to detail, have the ability to trouble shoot as needed,
- Work in a team environment or independently, lift 30 lbs.,
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook)
- The ability to prioritize and multitask daily workload.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent and 0 years additional education and/or related experience.
- No clearance required to start
- 0-1 years of experience in inventory, storeroom, warehouse, or other related fields.
- Must be available to work standard 1st shift hours
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Deltek Costpoint experience
- Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook) experience.
