March 2017POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision the Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehouse duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. This job requires knowledge of warehouse processes and procedures, and the ability to operate hand-trucks, forklifts, conveyors and other equipment.TYPICAL DUTIES
1.- Loading and unloading freight from trucks, storage containers, or vehicles, and sorts and stacks materials to be palletized for movement.2.
- Inspecting materials and products for proper and secure packaging, and maintaining integrity and condition. Restacks products or removes excess packaging material as needed.3.
- Maintaining records of shipped and received goods (manifests, bills of lading) using various computer software and applications.4.
- Routing materials to prescribed storage locations.5.
- Storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods 6.
- Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials.7.
- Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage.8.
- Removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.9.
- Removing trash and cardboard from facility and disposing according to procedures; ensuring safe and organized environment.10.
- Frequent travel between facilities or shops.11.
- Interacting with customers, vendors and co-workers to facilitate the shipping and receiving of goods. 12. May operate Hand Trucks, Pallet Jacks and Forklifts.13. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- At least one year of related experience.
- Experience in, and working knowledge of the operation of a Hand Truck, forklift, Pallet Jack and other material handling equipment.
- Ability to work safely and follow all safety policies involved with proper use of equipment and tools.
- Working knowledge of systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals or other established guidelines.
- Mathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to travel to various facilities.
- Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving and common sense skills.
- Communication and customer service skills to act responsively and provide procedural and factual information, and act responsively to questions from customers, employees and others; and escalate matters appropriately.
- An understanding of the organization serviced.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities.

High School Diploma or GED Technical/other trainingCERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:- Maneuvering in and around the warehouse
- Bending and stooping
- Lifting and moving boxes weighing up to 35 pounds
- Pulling or pushing up to 75 pounds
- May require using a pallet jack
- Climbing on and off material handling equipment
- Viewing Computer screen
- Utilizing keyboard
